New year, new adventures. Here’s an overview of some roller skating events in Europe you don’t want to miss in 2024. In addition to well-known events, the first Milano Quad Fest will take place at the beginning of September. It will be a three day celebration of quad skating you don’t want to miss.
Spring in den Spring! Mühlhausen (DE), April, 6th
Second round for this one. “Spring in den Spring” is a little play on words and means “leap into spring” and chances are high that the weather might be nice. Last year this was a really joyful event organized by CIB Erfurt. The hall is really huge, and visitors were allowed to have a sleepover at this large venue. @ivil_iness and @kateskatess will offer workshops, and contest like tricks for goodies as well as audience awards for best trick, best bail and best outfit. Of course, there will be plenty of time for open skating.
Meet-up by CIB Lyon (FR), April-June
CIB Lyon invites you to three meet-ups between April and June. Saturday (Apr 6) in Chaponost and Sunday (Apr 7) in Saint-Chamond with free street skating workshop by @booga_hellka. On May 4 they want to discover Brignais’ new skatepark, have a chill barbecue and visit the skateboard museum @thedisturbhousemuseum. And in hopes to escape Lyon’s heat the crew travels east to Annecy on June 22/23 to skate, swim, and offer a workshop with @doom_skate.
Club Cartel Street Jam, Newcastle (UK), April 20th
This year’s Club Cartel Street Jam (April 20th) will be hosting a Quad Division. The North East inline scene brings the roller skating squad into the mix, alongside @sheshredsacid who will be hosting the “Bladies” women’s blader category, and @curb.cartel themselves. A full day of street skating in Newcastle City Centre planned on Saturday 20th April. Starting at 12pm – meet point Manors Metro Station.
And for those who can’t get enough: There will be a skate session on Sunday at @thewasteydiy, Newcy’s legendary 10 year old DIY park, including a barbeque and hang out.
Oh My Quad, Edegem (BE), May, 18th/19th
On the weekend of May 18 & 19 it’s time for a tried and tested event in Belgium. “Oh My Quad” is going down at Skate Heaven in Edegem. Prepare for workshops, demos, contests in street and park and a lot of fun!
Summer Meetup, Atlantic Coast (FR), June 1st – 9th
This is the return of the French summer meetup by Patin Collectif! From June 1 to 9 skaters form France gather at the Atlantic coast around Capbreton/Soorts-Hossegor. A skaters and surfers dream as the waves are beautiful and the numerous skateparks even more. The Summer meetup is open to all skaters, whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or expert on wheels. The only rules: you have to be over 18 and respect their values of inclusivity and mutual respect. For more details contact and follow Patin Collectif.
Pro Bowl Fest, Marseille (FR), July, 3rd – 7th
Marseille’s bowl is a legendary spot. So why not check it out while the “Pro Bowl Fest” in July? It’s called urban culture festival as it is more than just a skate event. Arts, culture and great pro and amateur athletes from different disciplines are going to fill these five days. The organizer promise a great event this year as it’s their 15 anniversary.
Shred Da Ground, Bordeaux (FR), July 13th
The 8th edition of @shredaground will take place in Bordeaux on July 13, 2024 in a DIY kept “secret” and modified for the occasion . A premiere will be a quad jam session in partnership with Bordeaux’s quad shop @burdysquadshop
The London Jam (GB), Aug 24th
On Saturday 24th of August, the London quad community invites skaters to come and watch some top skaters shred their local BaySixty6! You can expect a bowl invitational competition, open mini ramp competition and free workshops. More info at Ramp Stamp LND.
Milano Quad Fest (IT), Sept 6th – 8th
Mark your calendars for the first Milano Quad Fest! On September 6-8 this event aims to be a big celebration of park and street roller skating. Hosted in Milan, Italy, roller skaters worldwide are invited for three days, including a video night, skate lessons, conversation panels, and both an AM and invitational competition! Skate Love Barcelona (ES), Sept, 12th – 15th
Skate Love Barcelona (September 12-15, 2022) is not just a unique international music festival on wheels, it’s without doubt the coolest roller skate event in Europe (or maybe in the whole wide world).The first ticket pre-sale sold out quickly but they will have more ticket sale rounds. Best is to keep an eye on the Instagram announcements.
